January 23rd – Gas pipeline

January 23rd 2023

Gas pipeline

National Holidays: Monday and Tuesday, February 20th and 21st, Carnival

Grains and Markets:

Egypt is tendering for corn (maize, that is) for the first time (similar system as applied for wheat tenders).

In Argentina maize and soyabeans are now finishing sowing.

There has been healthy rainfall all over the Pampas everyday all weekend, and including Friday 19th. Long may it last.

Despite the above the Buenos Aires Grain Exchange has moved the maize harvest forecast down to 44,500,000 tons, down from 52,100,000 tons 2021/2022.

Vietnam remains in the market for a Supramax of meal, on December dates; The Philippines are looking for 45,000 tons of soja meal between April and June.

Crude Oil exports from Bahia Blanca:

The principal outlet Puerto Rosales, off shore from Bahia Blanca.

There are two SBMs for handling crude. Punta Cigueña and Punta Ancla.

Exports are loaded at Punta Cigueña.

During November 2022, the vessels calling for export cargoes were:

Mt ANDES 63,650 tons to The Netherlands

Mt CHEMTRANS POLARIS 51,308 tons to Brazil

Mt HELLESPONT PROMISE 64,305 tons US Gulf

Gas pipeline:

The second stage of the gas pipeline from Vaca Muerta is to be tendered early February. The length of the pipeline is 573 km. These pipes of the first stage are at this moment commencing discharge in Buenos Aires.

This pipeline, apart from providing freight, will alleviate demand and, hopefully, make gas available for export.

Bunker deliveries at Zona Comun:

STS BUNKER AT ZONA COMUN FOR NEXT DAYS:

As always, the STS operation is up to the discretion of the Master’s of the vessels involved.

Groundings on the River Parana 2022:

Will keep you posted.

Antares Servicios Maritimos S.A.
