Tsakos Shipyard, Montevideo:

Regretfully we must inform that the formerly “floating dock” that belongs to Tsakos in Montevideo suffered an accident and has sunk at it’s emplacement. Fortunately there were no human casualties. Three fishing vessels were in the dock being serviced and they were taken down with the dock which now rests on the bottom. Salvage is being undertaken with no firm date of completion, at the moment.

Operations in the port of Montevideo are not affected.

Grains and Markets:

The Philippines are in the market for 135,000 tons of soyabean meal on February dates.

Malaysia is looking for a Supramax full of maize on February dates and Egypt is wanting a Panamax full of maize in February as well.

It is reported that there are 60 vessels delayed in Iran due to unpaid grain cargoes.

Crude Oil exports from Puerto Rosales (Bahia Blanca):

With the investment in crude oil extraction and export from Vaca Muerta the projected volume is expected to double today’s volumes. At this time the SBMs are handling six vessels per month. Cabotage and exports. Once the pipeline that conducts crude from Vaca Muerta to Puerto Rosales is doubled up and the new tanks and berth are completed the volume of vessels is projected to rise to fourteen per month.
