The Strike Has Been Lifted
In view of the ongoing developing situation and different communications and instructions being issued by Sanitary Authorities of the Argentine Government we have chosen to send a consolidated daily report at the closing of working hours with an update of the day’s news.
The strike by Oil Crushers Union has been lifted. Terminals at Upriver are returning to work gradually as they get organized. The strike by URGARA, the Grain Surveyors Union, remains in place. This strike is less strict and most grain vessels are loading, although at slower rates.
The terminals which remain on strike due to the grain surveyors union are:
AGD TIMBUES
CARGILL PUNTA ALVEAR
For the moment the tug crews are on strike, therefore all vessels berthed at terminals where a tug is required for berthing/unberthing cannot come alongside or sail.
Necochea: All berths are loading normally. But there is no tugboat service.
Bahia Blanca: Glencore has returned to work (Puerto Galvan), LDC and Cargill are still getting organized. Not withstanding the tugboats are on strike, so sailing and departure is not possible.
Today, 30th pm, there will be a meeting between Owners and tugboat crews.
As the situation develops we will send updates.
Will keep you posted.
Best regards,
Antares Servicios Maritimos S.A.
