Saudi Arabia have purchased wheat as follows:

Jeddah:

60,000 tons from Viterra (Sept. 15 – 30)

Yanbu:

55,000 tons from Cargill (Sept. 15 – 30)

60,000 tons from ADM Hellas (Oct. 1 – 15)

Origins offered were the European Union, Black Sea region, North America, South America and Australia, sellers option.

Despite the above the Saudi Arabians are still in the market for the Panamax (1 or 2) on August dates.

Tunisia is in the market for a Supramax of soya bean meal, August dates.

 

Grounding on the River Parana level with Km 391:

The mv STADION II has freed from her grounding at 19:30 hours this evening.

She had run aground on June 30th evening at KM 391, slightly down river from LDC Lagos berths.

The STADION II was proceeding in loaded condition from San Lorenzo on 9.86 meters draft bound for Angola.

She was assisted by two tugs, the MIRADOR and the BRUTUS and a salvage Master.

As of today 02nd pm the maximum sailing draft through the area where the grounding had occurred is reduced by CoastGuard Traffic Control to 7 meters.
Surveys will be conducted tomorrow during daylight in order to ascertain possible damage to the canal.

Grounding in the Buenos Aires Access Canal level with the junction for Mitre Canal:

Late yesterday 01st pm the mt SIRTAKI, on 10.10 meters draft and proceeding loaded with a cargo of gasoline upriver for Km 171 grounded at Km 11-12 of the Buenos Aires port access canal.

The vessel was freed from her grounding at 02:40 hours today July 02nd and she has now continued on her voyage for Km 171 to discharge.

She was assisted by two tugs.

 

Bahia Blanca – Stevedores:

The stevedore union in Bahia Blanca are refusing to work during overtime.

Operations will continue in this manner, with occasional short-term stoppages during normal working hours until the wage dispute is settled.
