Argentina’s soya bean harvest 2023-2024

Grains and Markets:

South Korea’s MFG has purchased 60,000 tons of soya bean meal from Olam, ECSA origin, late October dates.

Vietnam is looking for a Supra/Panamax of soya bean meal on spot dates.

China is reported to have bought it’s first Panamax of Argentine maize, prompt dates.

Nigerians are in the market for a Supramax of wheat, prompt dates.

 

rgentina’s soya bean harvest 2023-2024:

The harvest of the 2023-2024 crop of soya beans has been officially completed.

The total harvested is 50,500,000 tons.
This is slightly above average for harvests since 2018, discounting the previous harvest (2022-2023) which was a total disaster thanks to the severe drought. Just as an example, the harvest for 2022-2023 was a mere 23,000,000 tons.

The outlook for the crushing industry, mainly located at Upriver ports, is good. Returning to normal volumes of soya bean oil and soya bean meal being shipped through the year.

Bahia Blanca – Stevedores:

The stevedore union in Bahia Blanca are refusing to work during overtime.

Operations will continue in this manner, with occasional short-term stoppages during normal working hours until the wage dispute is settled.
