The majority State held oil company YPF is now working on two main investment projects.

One is the new export port at Punta Colorada, on the NE Patagonia coast where they are building a storage and loading facility.

This also includes laying down a crude oil pipeline from the Vaca Muerta shale oil and gas area in NW Patagonia. The first part of the pipeline is about to be laid down.

Purchase and contracting for the second part will soon be called for. Target date for the contracts to be signed in November this year.

At the loading facility there will be storage capacity on shore for 7,000,000 barrels of crude and two SBMs for loading crude oil.

The other project is the LNG pipeline and plant that can located at either Bahia Blanca or Punta Colorada.YPF, and Petronas are awaiting the new “Omnibus Law” to finish wending its way through Congress before making further announcements. Last night the “Omnibus Law” was sanctioned by the Senate but must now return to the Lower House (Deputies) to confirm the amendments made.
