Mining and logistics in Argentina

National Holidays: Thursday May 25th and Friday May 26th.

Grains and Markets:

India has purchased a full lift of soya oil from ECSA on July dates.

South Korea (MFG) has purchased 66,000 tons of maize from ADM, ECSA origin, with late October arrival date.

Saudi Arabia remains looking for one or two Panamaxes of maize in August.

Bangladesh is in the market for a full lift (Supramax) of soya beans in September.

Mining and logistics in Argentina:

This map above shows the verified mineral deposits within Argentina to date and overlaps them with the existing railway network. As can be seen the rail network feeds from the productive (and potentially productive) areas in to available ports that are active at this time loading bulk cargoes.

If, and when, the various mining projects that we have mentioned before become active ports in the Upriver area will be handling the export production in a manner similar to the way that Minera Alumbrera loaded Copper Concentrates via the facility alongside Terminal 6.

Bahia Blanca (Puerto Rosales):

OilTanking Ebytem, who manage the oil farm at Puerto Rosales, close to Bahia Blanca, have announced they will be expanding the facility to increase total storage capacity to 300,000 cubic meters. This capacity is expected to be reached by end of 2025. The purpose of the expansion is to handle the increasing volume of crude coming from Vaca Muerta.

The pipeline between OilTanking and Vaca Muerta is being duplicated at this time with expected readiness for early 2024.

Two berths will be constructed to replace the two SBMs currently under use to handle principally domestic cargoes.

Bunker deliveries at Zona Comun:

STS BUNKER AT ZONA COMUN FOR NEXT DAYS:

As always, the STS operation is up to the discretion of the Master’s of the vessels involved.

Will keep you posted.

Best regards,

Antares Servicios Maritimos S.A.
