Upriver draft

National Holidays: June 17th, 19th and 20th.

Grains and Markets:

Chicago Market and all US trades closed Monday due to Memorial Day. Hence no business has been reported.

The Buenos Aires Grain Exchange maintains it’s forecast for the 2022/2023 maize harvest at 36,000,000 tons.

Despite rumors, the maize growers’ association is endeavoring to discourage the Government’s scheme to grant a “bonus” exchange rate scheme, as implemented for soya, for maize exports.

They maintain that it will cause undue disruption to trade.

Upriver draft:

The grounding of the mv ORION OCEAN during the early hours of May 25th and her freeing up on May 26th pm, with the assistance of three tugs, produced a reduction of the draft at Km 337 of the River Parana.

The draft in the area, between San Nicolás and Ramallo, has been reduced by 0.50 meters.

A dredger, the CAPÍTAN NUÑEZ 256-C, is now working the area to repair the damage.

After this is completed and new soundings are performed a new improved draft will be announced. Hopefully by the end of the week.

Bunker deliveries at Zona Comun:

As always, the STS operation is up to the discretion of the Master’s of the vessels involved.

Will keep you posted.

Best regards,

Antares Servicios Maritimos S.A.
