Grains and Markets:

Honduras and Colombia have not yet closed their Supramax stems for mid-year.

Maize also remains on hold with Egypt, Mexico, Saudi Arabia and Vietnam still open.

The Argentine sunflower seed is now harvested and has come in at 5,000,000 tons which is average for the last few years. Nearly all of the sunflower seed crop goes to crushing locally and exported as meal or oil.

The “bonus” exchange rate plan by the Government for soya beans appears to be stalling with little interest from farmers to sell stocks. It may also be that there is little demand because of Labor Day holiday in China. The principal destination for the soya is China.

Bunker deliveries at Zona Comun:

As always, the STS operation is up to the discretion of the Master’s of the vessels involved.

Will keep you posted.
