Rosario TPR Terminal Strike

National Holidays: Sunday, November 20th and Monday November 21st, Long Weekend
Bahia Blanca Stevedores Strike:
Stevedores have lifted the strike action at Bahia Blanca. Grain berths and fertilizer berths are working normally.
Rosario TPR Terminal Strike:
The strike by stevedores at TPR Terminal Rosario is ongoing. Picket lines at the gates do not permit access to the port area.
TPR is an open berth Terminal located within the port of Rosario where containers, general cargo and certain bulk cargoes are loaded and discharged. It is also a berth (South side) used for loading bulk oil. The dispute is regarding the laying-of by the company of staff.
Lastly there is talk of Tecpetrol (Techint’s upstream oil company) who also talk of building an export terminal for crude oil and, or gas.
Grains and Markets:
In the end Egypt has purchased 6,000 tons of sunoil on December dates. They are now in the market for soyabeans on March dates. Vietnam will also be looking for soyameal on those dates. Chile is wanting maize (Handymax) on February dates. Ecuador is looking for a Handymax of maize on March dates.
Sunflowerseed:
Sowing of sunflower is now 75 per cent completed according to the Buenos Aires Grain Exchange. The total area to be sown was estimated at 2 million hectares. These are 300,000 thousand hectares more than the 2021/2022 season. This surface is principally located in the southern part of the Pampas commencing west of Buenos Aires and extending down to Bahia Blanca. The sowing is going well since this area got more rain than the northern part of the Pampas.
Weather in to the week-end for bunker deliveries at Zona Comun:
Weather conditions are expected to remain rough through Monday 14th and early Tuesday 1.
As always, the STS operation is up to the discretion of the Master’s of the vessels involved.
