November 25th is National Seaman’s day. The Seamen’s Union have declared a Holiday. Tugboat services will be restricted at most ports. At Bahia Blanca and Necochea services will only be rendered to emergency cases, such as loaded takers that must leave port immediately after having completed loading. At Upriver ports there will the “duty” tugs but service will be rendered to anyone who requires if the tug is not being used. Later the pilot boat crews advised they will join the Holiday and, at least in Bahia Blanca, there will be no pilot boats either.

Grains and Markets:

Morocco is in the market for about 45,000 tons of meal on February dates. Thailand also for same volume but March dates.

Argentina is negotiating with China in order to obtain permission to ship standard and GMO maize. What trade there has been on this commodity over the last years has been restricted mainly because maize originated in Argentina is genetically modified.

Soyabeans are being sowed at the moment. The progress of this is now at 19.5 per cent of a total 16.7 million hectares that are forecast to be applied.
