Copper mining
National Holidays: Saturday, April 2nd. After that Easter Thursday April 6th and Friday April 7th.
Grains and Markets:
Costa Rica is in the market for a Handysize worth of soya meal on April dates.
South Africa is also in the market for soya meal on July dates.
South Korea (Nofi) has purchased 132,000 tons of maize June and July dates and KFA has bought 66,000 tons for June also.
Saudi Arabia is in the market for maize in June.
Copper mining – Agua Rica/Minera Alumbrera (MARA):
The Minera Alumbrera/Agua Rica mine (MARA), managed by Yamana Gold but integrated by Yamana and Glencore, is now consolidating the investment and may commence operations by mid-2024.
The mine has 11.8 billion pounds of proven copper reserves. The mine is going to apply the Minera Alumbrera crushing and transport facilities located at the former MAA site and will use the railroad to transport to San Lorenzo for export shipment.
