National Holidays: Thursday May 25th and Friday May 26th.

Rosario TPR Terminal Strike:

The strike at Rosario TPR continues. On Friday 12th a stevedore suffered an accident and drowned. Since then all work has stopped as the Union is demanding better safety measures. A mandatory conciliation period was ruled but the it has been ignored.

Meantime mv ARGENTINA C and mv MADDOX remain alongside waiting to complete operations.

Grains and Markets:

Egypt still looking for a Panamax of soya beans in August, Morocco demanding a Panamax soya meal in July and Malaysia a Supramax of soya meal on August dates. Egypt is also looking for a Panamax of maize in September, and Malaysia a Panamax of maize in August.

YPF Crude imports:

YPF, the majority held state oil company, will be performing maintenance and improvement work on their principal pipelines over the next months.

These improvements are to enable the company to become a net exporter of crude to international markets.

This will reduce crude output to the local refineries, and they are expected to be more active in the import trade during this period.

 

Bunker deliveries at Zona Comun:

As always, the STS operation is up to the discretion of the Master’s of the vessels involved.
