May 25th 2020

Covid-19 National Quarantine

In view of the ongoing developing situation and different communications and instructions being issued by Sanitary Authorities of the Argentine Government we have chosen to send a consolidated daily report at the closing of working hours with an update of the day’s news.

National Holiday: Today, Monday May 25th, May Revolution and Monday, June 15th, Güemes Day.

Covid-19 National Quarantine: The National Quarantine has been extended until June 07th.
At the main ports the sanitary measures remain unchanged and work is well coordinated. The Ship’s Agency activities being related to foreign trade is one of the excepted from quarantine.

Export Licenses: On Friday May 22nd licenses were granted for 75,000 mt soyabean meal and 6,000 mt soyaoil. Today, May 25th is a National Holiday.

Recalada: The pilot service at Recalada was interrupted May 24th at 1825 hours until today May 25th 1415 hours due to bad weather conditions. Zona Comun closed on May 24th at 1600 hours and re-opened on May 25th 1715 hours also due to bad weather conditions. Otherwise pilot service is working normally.

Necochea: The port closed, again, today May 25th at 1145 hours due to 3.16 meters swell.

River Parana draft: Over the weekend the River Parana had a temporary recovery. This is due to a strong SE storm out at sea which filled the River Plate and caused a back-up effect up to San Lorenzo/Timbues. Events such as these may occur when the right weather patterns develop. Nevertheless, longer term weather forecasts indicate that the drought in the River Parana catchment areas will continue into the Southern Hemisphere spring (September/October).

Mv COFCO 1: The mv COFCO 1, on 9.37 meters draft, loaded with 41.935 mt of soyameal has grounded at Km 464.8 of the River Parana, just North of Dreyfus Timbues. This occurred at 2145 hours and all navigation is obstructed. Will keep you posted.

Will keep you posted.

Best regards,
Antares Servicios Maritimos S.A.
