May 26th 2020

Covid-19 National Quarantine

In view of the ongoing developing situation and different communications and instructions being issued by Sanitary Authorities of the Argentine Government we have chosen to send a consolidated daily report at the closing of working hours with an update of the day’s news.

National Holiday: Monday, June 15th, Güemes Day.

Covid-19 National Quarantine: The National Quarantine has been extended until June 07th.
At the main ports the sanitary measures remain unchanged and work is well coordinated. The Ship’s Agency activities being related to foreign trade is one of the excepted from quarantine.

River Paraná draft: There was some rain over Southern Brazil during the week end. This will help replenish the very diminished reserves of the hydro electric dams, but a lot more rain will be required to start filling the River Parana and return the sailing drafts to their usual levels. For the moment the forecast is not encouraging.

Necochea: The port remains closed since yesterday May 25th at 1145 hours due to swell. Bad weather outside continues. It is not considered likely that the port will re-open on Wednesday 27th.

Mv COFCO 1: The mv COFCO 1, which had grounded at Km 464.8 of the River Parana, just north of Dreyfus Timbues, freed and is now proceeding to Recalada. She freed on May 26thg at 0400 with the assistance of the tug BRUTUS.

Will keep you posted.

Best regards,
Antares Servicios Maritimos S.A.
