Argentine maize for China
National Holidays:
June 17th, 20th and 21st
Grains and Markets:
Few market reports on trades due to Argentina holiday 25th and Memorial Day holiday in the US yesterday 27th.
South Korea’s FLC has bought a Panamax of maize for September, seller is Cofco, origin option ECSA and SAfrica.
KFA were in the market, also, for a Panamax size of maize. Dates unreported.
Colombians are in the market for a Handymax full of wheat during July.
Argentine maize for China:
The Chinese Government has authorized imports of two of the most widely sown varieties of Argentine maize.
This now opens the door to trading Argentine maize to a very large buyer.
Most of bulk grain trade between Argentina and China, so far, has consisted of soya beans.
There have been optimistic reports as various “non tariffs” barriers being lifted, but this last news appears to lift the “bio sanitary” restriction that had blocked the trade until now.
