TPR Rosario strike:

Finally, after 40 days the strike at TPR appears to have been solved. The remaining staff are now allowed to access the terminal. Loading, discharging and storage will be fully resumed tomorrow 18th.

Port dues increase:

The tariff applied to port dues is being increased from USD 0.30 (per NRT) to USD 0.37 (per NRT) at all private ports in Argentina.

With this adjustment the tariff is being brought into line with the charge applied by public berths and all will now charge the same.

The modification will be applied starting February 01st, 2023.

Mooring-Unmooring gangs are also increasing by 21 per cent.

Grains and Markets:

The Buenos Aires Grain Exchange has produced its final report today on the wheat harvest.

The total declared yield is 12,400,000 tons for the 2022/2023 harvest. This is 8,100,000 tons below the original estimate. The huge loss is due to the drought condition affecting the Pampas region.

-3.8 per cent of the last 5-year average

-9.30 per cent compared to 2021/2022

Water level and flow in the River Paraná:

Thanks to the rains over southeast Brazil the dam at Itaipú, in South Brazil has filled its reservoir. On January 13th the flood gates were opened, and they are releasing a significant volume of water into the River. The expectation is that this volume of water will reach Upriver ports in about 15 or 20 days.

The small surge is reflected in the forecast attached.
