YPF-Petronas gas liquefaction project
National Holidays:

Grains and Markets:
South Africa is still in the market for a Supramax of soya bean meal during June.
Saudi Arabia is to be buying a Panamax or two of maize during July.
Algeria is in the market for 50,000 tons of wheat April-June dates.
Strikes at Steel Mills in Argentina:
The steel worker’s union (UOM) have again gone on strike starting today March 19th 06:000 hours.
Operations at Villa Constitucion (Acindar), San Nicolás (Siderar-Ternium) and Campana (Siderca) will stop until March 22nd 06:00 hours.
Nevertheless, at Campana iron ore discharge will continue because discharge is performed by a different union.
This is a wage related claim.
YPF-Petronas gas liquefaction project:
YPF-Petronas are advancing with finer details of the gas liquefaction plan that is to be constructed in North Patagonia.
They are now preparing the first tenders to contract for the shore engineering installations.
It is yet to be determined if the plant is to be installed at Bahia Blanca or at Punta Colorada.
The first stage of the plant will be implemented by chartering a floating gas liquefaction vessel to be moored at the port and to export from there.
The second stage will consist of construction of a gas liquefaction installation on shore.

- There is strong competition between the two provinces (Buenos Aires and Rio Negro) that are vying for this investment.

- The gas to be processed will be originated at the Vaca Muerta shale oil and gas field in North Western Patagonia.
