Argentina grain harvest forecasts
National Holidays:
-Extra-long weekend, Thursday, March 28th, Friday March 29th, (Easter), Monday, April 01st (Bridge Holiday), Tuesday, April 02nd (Veterans Day)
Grains and Markets:
Egyptians are still in the market looking for a Panamax of soya beans during May and another Panamax on similar dates.
They are also in the market for 30,000 tons of soya bean oil and 10,000 tons of sun flower seed oil, same again, May dates.
Colombians are in the market for Supramaxes, one each of soya bean meal and another of maize, both May or June dates.
Brazilians are wanting a Handymax of wheat for June.
Argentina grain harvest forecasts:
The Buenos Aires Grains Exchange has lowered their forecast for the maize crop to 54,000,000 tons total from 56 million.
This is because of excessive rain in some areas and a bug that has infested over large areas.
Harvesting of maize has started in northern areas.
Barley harvesting is now complete with a total yield of 5,000,000 tons.
The soya bean forecast is still in the order of 52,500,000 tons, harvest is about to commence in earnest next week.
