Rosario TPR Terminal Strike:
Stevedores at TPR Rosario have returned to work because the Ministry of Labor declared a 15-day compulsory truce.
Bahia Blanca Stevedores Strike:
Stevedores strike has been lifted as from November 16th pm.
Grains and Markets:
Soyabean sowing is now well underway as rainfall over the weekend improved conditions significantly. It is estimated that 12 per cent of the estimated total area (16.7 million hectares) is now sown.
Maize is also advancing with 23.6 per cent of the estimated total area (7,3 million hectares) now sown.
Barley is now to commence harvesting within the next 15 days. The total harvest is expected to be 4 million tons. A slight drop caused by unexpected spring frosts.
Bunkers in Argentina:
Bunker prices in the area remains stable.
There is reported tight delivery for lighter MDO/MGO at Zona Comun/Buenos Aires area.
Customs are being very strict controlling all deliveries and very thorough controls are imposed on all declarations prior issuing of permits.
There also reported to be new audit and measuring procedures that suppliers expect to delay the turn around of the barges when the cruise season gets well underway in a few weeks.
Gusty weather conditions are to carry on during the coming days into the weekend. Some of the smaller bunker delivery barges choose not to operate in these conditions.
As always, the STS operation is up to the discretion of the Master’s of the vessels involved.
