March 26th 2020

Affected Countries

In view of the ongoing developing situation and different communications and instructions being issued by Sanitary Authorities of the Argentine Government we have chosen to send a consolidated daily report at the closing of working hours with an update of the day’s news.

-National Holidays: Upcoming National Holidays are March 30th and March 31st. Also April 09th and 10th for Easter.

-Upriver: Loading is now working at normal levels. The mv OCEAN JOY completed loading operations at AGD Timbues with about 30,000 mt wheat. The vessel loaded without stevedores due to non cooperation from the stevedore union and hold inspection was performed remotely, photographically. The mt CLEAROCEAN MELODY coming from Quintero Chile lies at Arroyo Seco Roads since Tuesday March 24th evening when one crew member was detected as feverish by Sanitary Authorities on arrival. The vessel has been denied Free Practique until COVID19 test results are available. These are expected tomorrow Friday 27th. Reportedly the crew member’s fever condition has dissipated.

-Sanitary inspection is being performed at Roads of each port upon arrival. The proposal that Sanitary Authority inspect vessels at Recalada has not been implemented, and may not happen at all.

-Necochea and Bahia Blanca: Still requiring vessels to comply with 14 day quarantine period to count as from date of sailing from last “affected” port.

-HSS Harvest: The forecast for the soja harvest is 57 million tons. At the time of writing 4.6 per cent has been lifted. Maize forecast is for 50 million tons with about 15 per cent been lifted so far. Sunflowerseed is expected at 2.5 million tons and 73.7 per cent collected. Farmers work regardless of the National Quarantine.

Will keep you posted.
