YPF export plans:

YPF, the state majority owned oil company, is aiming for a total production of 1,000,000 barrels of crude per day by 2030.

This means multiplying today’s production by four.

Other than supplying the local market they aim to achieve exports in the order of 50.000.000 tons per annum by that date.

The sourcing will be from the NW Patagonia shale oil field at Vaca Muerta which will be carried by a new oil pipeline to the projected port at Punta Colorada, NE coast of Patagonia.

Added to this they are now in the initial engineering stages to construct a gas pipeline from Vaca Muerta to supply LNG production facilities which may be located at either Punta Colorada or at Bahia Blanca.

This in association with Petronas.

Initial production of LNG will be via one or two floating liquefaction facilities until a shore installation is ready.
