New port at Rio Grande, Tierra del Fuego

Grains and Markets:
Vietnam remains in the market for a Supramax of soya bean meal on November dates. Tunisia also looking for a Supramax of soya meal on October dates. Bangladesh is still looking for October soya beans.
South Korea (FLC) has bought 66,000 tons of maize, November dates. Algeria has purchased 80,000 tons of Argentine maize in September.
New port at Rio Grande, Tierra del Fuego:
It has been announced that a new port is to be constructed at Rio Grande, Tierra del Fuego.
Located at Rio Grande, Tierra del Fuego it is designed to handle 2,000 containers per month. Work is scheduled to commence during 2024.
Tierra del Fuego is an island that has a “Tax Free” status within Argentina and is home to electronics industry where TVs, computers and cell phones are assembled for subsequent transport to “continental” Argentina. Most of the industry is located at Rio Grande.
Ushuaia, at the moment, is the only port and materials are shipped in and out from there.
