Grains and Markets:
Iran is tendering for 120,000 tons of soya bean meal and 180,000 tons of maize, loading Sept/October dates.
Egypt has purchased 39,500 tons of soya bean oil and they are in the market for 10,000 tons of sunflower seed oil on October dates.
Colombia is looking for a Supramax of soya bean meal on October laycan.
Thailand is wanting a Panamax of soya beans on similar dates.
Bahia Blanca. Oiltanking Terminal at Puerto Rosales:
Ground moving work at Oiltanking’s Terminal has already commenced.
The construction of an additional 300,000 cubic meters of storage (to add to today’s 430,000 cubic feet capacity) is designed to satisfy additional export demand from the shale oil and gas field at Vaca Muerta in North Western Patagonia. The first two tanks, of about 30,000 cubic meters capacity, are expected to be ready by end of 2024.
Additionally at pier is being constructed that enable the berthing of Suezmax and Aframax tankers.
At this time the terminal is loading/receiving crude from two SBMS and an oil pipeline that feed from Vaca Muerta across NW Patagonia. The pipeline is going to be doubled in capacity using the same route as the one in place now, but with a separate pipe infrastructure.
Bahia Blanca. Stevedores:
Stevedores are calling out wild-cat two hour stoppages on a random basis during each 6 hour working shift.
This is related to a wage dispute.
