River Parana Draft Forecast:

Grains and Markets:

The harvesting of the 2022 maize crop has been completed. The overall tonnage is 52 million. This is 3 million less than the 2021 harvest.
There are freezing weather conditions in South Brazil over this week and forecast for the coming one. Because of this, expectations are that the wheat crop will be affected and a better than usual trade with imports, mainly sourced from Argentina will develop as from November.
The market reports that Egypt is the market for a Panamax of soyabeans for November dates.

Ushuaia:

Plans are moving ahead in Ushuaia to construct a cruise terminal.
540 port calls by cruise ships are announced for the 2022/2023 season.
At the same time work is going ahead to extend the pier to a total length of 740 meters, with vessels berthing on both sides.

Bahia Blanca/Vaca Muerta/Crude Petroleum exports:

Given today’s worldwide energy shortage plans are moving ahead to improve the logistics from Vaca Muerta shale oil and gas field to Bahia Blanca.
Transport of production is now being upgraded with an additional pipeline to Puerto Rosales, just outside Bahia Blanca, to feed the new oil tanks and loading berth being constructed by OilTanking. Investment in the railway network at Vaca Muerta, with Chinese financing, is being accelerated to improve rail connections to the trunk network that feeds into Bahia Blanca. An additional advantage is the linking of Bahia Blanca with the potash mining project at Rio Colorado.

Weather in to the week-end for bunker deliveries at Zona Comun:

STS BUNKER AT ZONA COMUN FOR NEXT DAYS:
Despite initial pessimistic forecast the winds at Zona Comun have not interrupted the STS operations.
As always the actual STS bunkering operation depends on the criteria of the Masters of the vessels involved.

Will keep you posted.

Best regards,

Antares Servicios Maritimos S.A.
