Bahia Blanca hit by severe weather conditions

Grains and Markets:
Algeria will be tendering for a full Panamax of soya bean meal on January dates.
Thailand will be in the market for a Supramax of soya bean meal, April dates.
After confirming the purchase of 30,000 tons of maize for spot dates (sourced from Argentina), Algeria will be back in the market for a further 120,000 tons of maize again, spot.
Bahia Blanca hit by severe weather conditions:
Late last Saturday night (Dec 16th) and Sunday early morning (Dec 17th) Bahia Blanca was hit by a severe gale and tornado.
A power outage still affects many areas. At the time of sending this the port area is expected to be without electric power until the middle of the week.
Preliminary reports talk of damages to shore facilities at Puerto Galvan Berth 5 where at least one of the shore cranes has been blown over and the other damaged.
This berth is used for discharging fertilizers and general cargo.
