Grains and Markets:
Iran (SLAL) is in the market for 200,000 tons of soya bean meal to be shipped there between January-March.
Tunisia is also looking for a Supramax of soya bean meal on April dates.
Malaysia and Chile are also looking for Supramaxes of maize during March.
Alegria will be tendering to purchase a further 120,000 tons of maize on February-March dates. The January purchases of maize all came from Argentina.
South America soya beans 2024:
According to forecast accumulated over this week the soya beans harvest that are coming from ECSA look like this:
Argentina 50,000,000 tons
Paraguay 10,000,000 tons
Brazil 155,000,000 tons
This makes a sum total 25,000,000 tons over and above 2023 harvest.
