Grains and Markets:

India is reported to have bought one parcel of ECSA soya bean oil on August dates.

Brazilian soya bean exports to Argentina total 1,100,000 tons during June 2023, that now makes 3,000,000 tons during 2023, this far.

Japan is in the market for a Panamax of maize during October, so is Malaysia and The Philippines are wanting a Panamax of maize for November.

More Camelina Sativa:

This new (to us!) oil seed appears again in the news. In our “News” of July 06th we mentioned that Bunge and Chevron had purchased a company that was developing camelina sativa. It has now been announced that LDC and Global Clean Energy Holdings, Inc were going to work jointly to foster crops of camelina sativa with technical and commercial support directed at farmers willing to undertake production. Once the product comes off the farms it has to be crushed, the oil (bio fuel) separated from the meal and commercialized. These are skills where both LDC and Global Clean have a wealth of experience. The estimated (conventional) production on crushing is about 80 per cent meal / 20 per cent oil. We shall be following and updating on this as it comes our way.

San Nicolás, New Port:

Repairs at the South end of San Nicolás New Port continue underway. This berth is used primarily for the discharge of fertilizers in to storage within the port belonging to Profertil and Yara, as well as other receivers. Since the work started early during 2023 a significant congestion has been developing with inward bound (loaded) vessels coming to discharge at San Nicolás. Today the congestion stands at about one month. The Port Administration has indicated that work will be completed by October, this year.

Construction was necessary after excessive weight of iron ore stored at the berth during many years caused the ground to subside.

Bunker deliveries at Zona Comun:

STS BUNKER AT ZONA COMUN FOR NEXT DAYS:

As always, the STS operation is up to the discretion of the Master’s of the vessels involved.

Will keep you posted.
