New tender for the concession of the River Parana

South Korea’s MFG have bought 132,000 tons of maize (2xPanamax) from ADM. August-September dates.
Also, South Korea, but KFA, have bought 66,000 tons of maize, October dates. Origin yet to be declared.
Colombians are in the market for a Supramax of maize, September.
Egypt have passed on a combo soya-sunoil tender, Augusta dates.
Colombia is reported to be looking for a Handy-Supramax of wheat during August.
Thursday June 27th – Government Employee’s Day:
All Government offices will be working on a “holiday” schedule June 27th as it is “Government Employee’s Day”.
Customs, Immigration, SENASA, Sanitary, will be charging overtime rates for performing their usual tasks.
New tender for the concession of the River Parana-River Plate:
The Government is starting to get organized to get the process to tender for a new contract for maintenance and buoying of the River Parana-River Plate waterway.
Up until now, the dredging, buoying and toll collection of the waterway was managed by the state entity known as AGP since the expiry of the contract with Hidrovia (Jan de Nul) during 2020.
The tendering process is to be managed and conducted by the Under Secretariat for Canals, Ports and Merchant Marine (CPVN).
AGP will continue day to day administration.
Firstly, the technical specifications for the improved waterway will have to be determined, then environmental impact studies will have to be undertaken and lastly the call for offers under the new specifications for those interested to offer.
It is expected that the new specifications will call for an improved draft, over and above today’s 10.50 meters as well as a widening of the canal to improve transit times and reduce delays.
Expectations are for a 25 to 30 year contract.
The environmental impact studies may take up to two years to be completed.
