Affected Countries

Argentina , Uruguay , European Union, UK, USA, Japan, China, Iran, South Korea, Brazil and Chile.

In view of the ongoing developing situation and different communications and instructions being issued by Sanitary Authorities of the Argentine Government we have chosen to send a consolidated daily report at the closing of working hours with an update of the day’s news.

-National Holidays: The National Government has declared that today March 23rd, March 24th, March 30th and March 31st are National Holidays. In addition April 09th and 10th are National Holidays due to Easter. It must be pointed out that under National Quarantine circumstances most activities for foreign trade and shipping are being attended. National Government entities so far are rendering best cooperation and endeavor that activities return to as close as possible to normal, with due care being taken not to prejudice sanitary measures. Local entities and authorities have accompanied in varying degrees as we have been detailing and will continue to do so.

-Recalada. Vessels arriving to enter via Recalada are being asked for additional Sanitary information related to free Practique. This is demanded by CoastGuard Traffic control and additionally filtered via Pilots. Intention is to post a CoastGuard cutter with Sanitary officials to screen vessels prior entry.

-Upriver. Most berths and terminals are working normally. Restrictions and local complications have occurred to vessels coming from “affected” countries with certain entities refusing to attend onboard but in the case of the mv OCEAN JOY, a handy size bulk carrier, loading at Dreyfus Timbues the use of Stevedores and Cargo control companies was waived and the vessel is loading as from 0730 hours.

Inflow of cargo into terminals is very close to normal levels with trucks delivering as usual. Railways deliveries are slightly delayed, but returning to normal.

-Necochea: Sanitary Authority maintains stringent restrictions for all vessels coming from affected countries enforcing 14 day quarantine. This includes vessels that may have already called at other ports in Argentina. The mv MOUNT OWEN was granted Free Practique today at 1000 hrs and commenced loading operations. Additionally the whole of Necochea is closed to outside access. Only one entry road is open and subject to police control.

-Bahia Blanca: Access by vessels has been relaxed slightly with port administration allowing vessels to enter under special request. Stevedores are attending operations but with close medical surveillance. This is being done in order not to allow closure of many industrial plants working within the port area.

Will keep you posted.
