Grains and Markets:
India has imported 459,000 tons of sunflower seed oil during January.
South Korea’s MFG has also purchased 138,000 tons of maize. Of these 70,000 tons are ECSA origin, early April shipment dates.
Vietnam is looking for a Suprax/Panamax of soya meal on April/May dates. Morocco similar volume, product and dates.
Algeria is looking for a Supramax of maize on April dates
HSS harvest forecasts from Argentina:
Argentina’s soyabean production is now estimated to be 34,500,000 tons for 2023 according to the Rosario Commercial Exchange.
The Buenos Aires Grains Exchange estimates the volume of soyabeans to be 38,000,000 tons.
Harvesting starts during April this year.
The maize sowing is nearly completed, over 99 per cent.
The Rosario Commercial Exchange estimates the total volume for 2023 to stand at 42,500,000 tons.
Maize is sown to a further southern range than soya and so has been less affected by the dry weather.
Pampa Energía wind farm close to Bahia Blanca:
Pampa Energía, Argentine energy company, are establishing a new wind farm close to Bahia Blanca.
The full generating capacity of the project is 300 MW. It will be constructed in three stages.
First stage of the project will require approximately 28 windmills which will be shipped to Bahia Blanca.
It is expected to be up and running by June 2023.
We will advise the development of further stages as they are announced.
