Grains and Markets:
South Korea’s (MFG) purchase of 66,000 tons of maize was from Cargill. Option for ECSA/SAfrica origin. Mid November dates. South Korea (NOFI) bought 68,000 tons of maize from Olam, origin again ECSA/SAfrica. 2h November dates.
Taiwan has purchased 65,000 tons of maize, late October or early November dates.
Necochea. TQQ elevator:
Staff at TQQ elevator in Necochea are starting random 2 hour work stoppages. One during the morning and another during the afternoon shift. The stevedore union are also showing sympathy and stopping work during same periods.
The TQQ staff are stopping work demanding that the elevator installation situation be clarified. The concession for running the elevator expired during 2022 and was granted a one year extension. Now the extension is due to expire and little has been done to find a new concession. Staff working there are concerned regarding future employmen
TQQ elevator – Necochea
Mar del Plata off shore:
Equinor is now preparing to set up base in Mar del Plata to support the prospecting of the CAN-100 off shore area.
Prospecting will be carried out by the VALARIS DS 17 estimated to commence during October this year and if the results are as expected the first drilling will take place during January 2024.
Expectations for this area are very high. Initial ideas are for a potential volume of 200,000 barrels per day.
