National Holiday: Friday, December 08th

Grains and Markets:

Algeria (OACI) will be tendering for 50,000 tons x 4 of wheat on two January dates and two February dates.

Tunisia will be entering the market for a Supramax of soya beans on January dates.

Colombia will be wanting a Supramax of maize in April and possibly also Malaysian for same volume for February.

Local grain trading:

Local trading activities have very much ceased until next week when the new Government takes over.

The market is expecting news on the foreign exchange market.

Farmers are sitting on their stocks expecting an upsurge after the new Government is sworn in Sunday, December 10th and the new policies are announced.

Taxes on exports will remain in the short and medium term because the Government will need the money for expenses until the fiscal deficit is brought under control.

A survey of the agricultural production area has shown that some grains, particularly soya beans, under certain scenarios could increase their total production volume by 63 per cent.

Bunker deliveries at Zona Comun:

STS BUNKER AT ZONA COMUN FOR NEXT DAYS:

As always, the STS operation is up to the discretion of the Master’s of the vessels involved.

Will keep you posted.
