National Holidays: Friday October 13th and Monday October 16th.

 

Grain surveyor’s union strike called off:

URGARA, the grain surveyor’s union had called a strike to begin at 00:00 hours tomorrow September 13th.

The Government declared a compulsory truce, shortly after the declaration.

We will be reverting tomorrow with a report on the compliance of this “truce”.

This is a wage related claim.

 

Grains and Markets:

Morocco still there for a Panamax of soya bean meal on November dates.

Japan is wanting a Panamax of maize for January dates, and Iran is back with another tender for 180,000 tons maize on October-November dates.

Nafta and Gasoil imports to Argentina:

In it’s losing fight against inflation, and to try and keep prices down, the Government has allowed petroleum refining companies to import gasoil and nafta without levying import duties. This will be starting late August until 31st October.

San Nicolás New Port North side:

Delays for vessels calling at San Nicolás New Port are building up again.

At this time the line-up is amounting to about 13/14 days waiting time counting from arrival at Recalada.

This berth is used by vessels discharging fertilizer imports.

The South side of the berth (pictured below) is under repairs and these are not expected to be concluded until early November

As always, the STS operation is up to the discretion of the Master’s of the vessels involved.
